TWO architects who made a huge impact on the local street scene will be the subject of Bromsgrove Society’s next virtual history talk.
Freddie and Mary Charles specialised in vernacular architecture and worked on the preservation and restoration of historic timber-framed buildings.
A well-known project of theirs was moving the house from Worcester Road, Bromsgrove to Avoncroft Museum in the early 1960s.
The talk will be led by Emily Hathaway and Tegan Cornah of Worcestershire’s Archive and Archaeology Service.
They were part of a team that worked on a project to digitally preserve and make publicly accessible the practice archive of F W B and Mary Charles Chartered Architects.
The Charles Archive digital archive includes an extensive collection of high resolution photographs, slides, plans and drawings, relating to buildings across Worcestershire.
The free talk will take place online on Zoom at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 16.
