Waseley Hills High School students' cards to spread festive cheer to elderly residents in Rubery

Bromsgrove Editorial 22nd Dec, 2020   0

VULNERABLE elderly residents in Rubery have been receiving some festive cheer, thanks to sixth-formers from Waseley Hills High School.

The year 12 and 13 students usually host a Christmas tea party for older residents but that has not been possible because of the pandemic.

Instead they have sent Christmas cards to the village’s older people.

Head of sixth-form Simon Mitchell said: “We contacted AgeUK for a list of local people who would be spending Christmas alone.

“The students were amazing as ever, and wrote beautiful messages which we hope spread some much-needed festive cheer.”

Cards were collected by AgeUK and will be posted out in time for Christmas.
