BROMSGROVE Rotary Club has donated £500 to the Harry Bennett Foundation – named after a popular Bromsgrove teenager who died earlier this year.

The foundation helps people to achieve their sporting dreams by supplying financial support for equipment and training.

Donations are also used to start new sport teams and help those who find themselves in hardship physically or emotionally.

Rotary Club secretary Ron Pearce, said: “We are very keen in supporting the development of young people and making sure they reach their full potential.

“And we are always looking to support and assist new charities in Bromsgrove in any way that we can.”

Harry, who studied at South Bromsgrove High School, was keen sportsman playing rugby for Kings Norton Rugby Club and football for Meadow Park Football Club. He also enjoyed cricket as well.

The 16-year-old died suddenly following a short illness in January 2020.

His family set up the Harry Bennett Foundation in his memory shortly after.
