A MUM and her two daughters who undertook a litter pick around Rednal have inspired others to join them in a concerted bid to clean up the local area.

It began when Fiona Phipps’ eldest daughter Elsie, who is five and in year one at Rednal Hill Infant
School, asked if they could get some friends together to go litter-picking as they were struggling to keep up with it all.
Fiona said: “Since the schools have returned we have noticed such an increase in litter so we asked our friends and members of the Rednal community to join us.”
There was an amazing turnout of 27 parents and children on Sunday who tackled nine roads, amassing 15 bags full of litter.

The group are now going to make it a regular occurrence to ensure Rednal remains rubbish free.
Fiona added: “I couldn’t be prouder of everyone who joined in and the Rednal Litter Busters will be meeting at 10am on Sundays somewhere in the local area for our latest litter pick.”
