POLICE are hunting Adam Clancy in connection with an assault on a taxi driver in Birmingham.
The attack, around 2pm on June 30 in Kimpton Close, Druids Heath, saw the 52-year-old driver repeatedly punched in the face, causing swelling and leading to him needing hospital treatment.
Clancy, who was identified as the suspect after a social media appeal, is from Stirchley but also has links to Bromsgrove and Acocks Green, as well as Druids Heath.
Officers have been working hard to bring Clancy into custody in order to question him about the incident but despite arrest attempts at more than seven properties, he remains at large.
They have now issued this image in a bid to locate and arrest him.
Det Sgt Patrick Simpson, said: “To put it simply, people should not go to work fearing that they’ll be attacked or abused as they try to do their job.
“The taxi driver sustained injuries that required hospital treatment, and we know that many people who’ve seen the footage are understandably shocked and outraged at what happened – please be assured that we are determined to find who was responsible.”
He urged anyone with any information or Clancy himself to call West Midlands Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“If you see Adam Clancy we’d ask that you don’t approach him and call us on 999 immediately instead.”
