Driver who answered mobile phone call in Rubery nearly crashed into police car

THE driver of a vehicle loaded with pallets nearly crashed into an unmarked police car when they answered their mobile phone.

It happened earlier this evening on the A38 in Rubery.

The motorist was pulled over by officers from Worcestershire Operational Policing Unit and has been reported for using a mobile phone at the wheel.

The offence carries six penalty points and a £200 fine.
