A CAMPAIGN to let people know there is help available if they are in an abusive relationship has been released by the WAITS Women Acting in Todays Society charity.
There are concerns victims are even more trapped, will feel more isolated and could be in more danger during the Coronavirus lockdown.
A short powerful 1min 20sec video has been created as part of the #NoExcuseForAbuse awareness drive.
People who are being abused or know someone who is are urged to report it.
The video also lets people know how to contact the police without having to speak by dialling 55 after calling 999,
Other advice includes creating a secret phrase with a friend to let them know if they are in trouble or download the free Bright Sky App or Hollie Guard App.

The Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales Dame Vera Baird QC said in a statement released last week in conjunction with the #NoExcuseForAbuse campaign: “I say to victims – you are not alone.
“Do not doubt it.
“We know the virus and isolation makes things ten times worse, so this is a clear declaration that services are there to help.
“And I say to perpetrators – stop it now.
“The police are still working, the courts are still working, and the law will deal with you harshly, as it understands the extra vulnerability of victims during lockdown.”
WAITS – Women Acting in Todays Society – wants to get this message out and to make it known to as many as possible that it, along with other agencies, can still help.
