Can you help Basement Project's 'Giving Tuesday' drive to fund a month's worth of food parcels?

BROMSGROVE’S Basement Project has set itself a challenge to raise £500 in one day to help fund a month’s worth of food parcels for the vulnerable people it helps.

Giving Tuesday will run throughout tomorrow with the charity posting on social media throughout the day, using the hashtags #PoundsForParcels and #GivingTuesdayNow.

The charity, which supports young people who are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless, gives out an average of 25 food parcels to those in crisis and donations are vital to keep the foodbank stocked.

But the Basement Project realises it is difficult to donate food at the moment because of the quarantine regulations so is hoping people will be able to make a cash donation instead and the charity will then buy the items for the parcels.

A spokesperson said: “No-one should have bare cupboards, especially in a pandemic.

“Can you help us to raise £500 to fund 25 food parcels?”
