Bromsgrove accountants firm employees help boost Heart of England forest

STAFF at a Bromsgrove accountancy firm have been totalling up the number of trees they have planted after giving up their time to boost the Heart of England Forest.

Martin G Clark and Co in Aston Fields also contributed £681 to the charitable trust after being responsible for 564 of the 62,335 trees planted this year at Broadleaf Forest.

The planting happened just before the lockdown and came about after Halesowen-based Cutter and Co Chartered Accountants which formally merged with the Bromsgrove firm in December, chose the project as its charity of the year.

Cutter and Co contributed the cost of one tree sapling on behalf of all its clients who settled invoices within 15 days during certain months, also presenting them certificates detailing each donation.

Dave Hazlehurst, a director from Martin G Clark, said it was a lovely charity to support.

“We are proud that having traditionally been ‘paper-pushers’, Martin G Clark has not only been transitioning into working paperless but are now actually planting trees rather than using them up – quite a reversal.”
