AN APPEAL has been made to parents in Rubery to speak to their teenage children about the importance of the COVID-19 lockdown and social distancing.
PCSO Sue White made the plea after an incident in Rubery earlier this afternoon when she sent home three groups of teenagers who were hanging around the skate park at St Chad’s Park, New Road.
The Government’s regulations, during the coronavirus pandemic state people can only be out of their homes for four reasons – to care for vulnerable people or attend a medical appointment, shopping for essential items, one daily exercise session and to go to work – if that work cannot be done from home.
The warning comes after another one by the Hagley and Rubery Safer Neighbourhood Team about people not crowding at beauty spots.
That came after people flocked to the Lickey Hills, Waseley Hills and Clent Hills, making it difficult for people to stick to the social distancing rule of keeping two metres (6ft) apart.
Officers said earlier today the message about beauty spots seemed to be getting through.
