A BRONZE medal certified Bromsgrove School’s position as the top-ranking school in the sport at the National Schools’ finals.
Despite missing out on a place in the final – which was contested by two sixth-form college sides – a win for the first team in the third-place play-off ensured Bromsgrove’s status remained.
The finals, which are contested by the best 18 schools in the country and played at Stanborough School in Welwyn Garden City, proved a happy hunting ground for Bromsgrove after wins over Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate, St. Edmund’s College, Canford School, Felsted School, Oakham School and Streatham & Clapham High School.
Unsurprisingly, having won five games from five, Bromsgrove topped their pool to set up a semi-final clash with Worthing College.
While a 15-7 loss followed to the eventual winners, Bromsgrove’s girls responded positively and returned to Worcestershire with medals around their necks after a determined display in the 13-8 win over Canford School.
