DRIVERS in Hollywood and Wythall are being warned to be on their guard after numerous reports of men trying the handles of vehicles over the past few days and a vehicle break-in.

Overnight between Wednesday and Thursday a man tried five car doors on Mynors Crescent, in the early hours of the morning.

Between 3am and 10am yesterday a man with a limp and wearing a hoodie was seen trying the doors of three cars in Alcester Road.

And on Thursday a man was seen at 3.18am on Chesterwood, breaking into a black Ford Focus which has the partial registration number ‘DE AAN’.

On that occasion the thief stole a wallet from the vehicle.

Officers from Alvechurch and Wythall Safer Neighbourhood Team have urges anyone who sees people trying car door handles or other suspicious behaviour to report it to officers by calling 101 or 999 if the incident is in progress.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
