Vandal made to pay for damaging Christmas lights in Hagley

Bromsgrove Editorial 11th Dec, 2019   0

A VANDAL has agreed to pay for and replace damaged Christmas tree lights outside a business in Hagley.

West Mercia Police acted quickly to locate the individual after they were made aware of a video of the lights being damaged circulating on social media.

The individual has also written an apology to the owner.

Inspector Mark Chappell said: “While in the grand scheme of things this was a relatively small incident we could see by the comments online that our local community were disappointed by this mindless damage.

“Therefore we took a proactive but proportionate approach to identifying the man involved and, we hope, returning some Christmas cheer to the village.”
