ON THIS week’s Standard Podcast we speak to Alan Gormley about his quest to make Bromsgrove a centre of excellence for walking sports.
Alan came up with the idea of Walking Hockey and since it was piloted in Bromsgrove and regular sessions were set up, it has now gone global and is played in countries all around the world.
On Tuesday, October 22, daytime walking hockey sessions start on the astroturf at Bromsgrove Hockey Club from 10.30am to 11.30am and on Thursday, October 24, Walking Football will be available for the first time in the town – the strolling version of the beautiful game will be played from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Alan talks about the new sessions and his dream of making Bromsgrove the centre of excellence for walking sports.
