Ward administrator to walk ten miles for Pulmonary Fibrosis

A WARD administrator from the Worcestershire Royal Hospital will walk ten miles to raise cash for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust.

Jolene Patrick, 32, decided to embark on the fund-raising challenge following her mum Pat’s recent admission to the hospital.

Pat has battled with the life-limiting lung disease since her diagnosis in 2015.

Jolene, who will walk from the hospital to Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club, Bromsgrove, said she wanted to raise awareness of the support available on the NHS for those living with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

“Before mum’s illness we didn’t know a thing about this awful condition and I think many others still don’t.

“As a family we want people to know it’s actually not that rare.”

Since Pat’s most recent admission her condition has deteriorated, she is currently under palliative care.

Jolene added: “The staff have been fantastic with mum, providing such excellent care.”

The ten-mile walk takes place tomorrow and will be followed by a charity evening at the Stoke Prior club.
