WORK will begin on constructing Catshill’s community garden this weekend and the organisers are hoping join them tomorrow and Sunday, September 5 and 6, to get the plot up and running.
Everyone is welcome to help build planters and plants seeds as part of the project led by Catshill in Bloom.
Coun Shirley Webb said: “This is going to be Catshill’s first community garden and we want as much of the community involved as possible.”
She added she would also welcome donations of plants, seeds, bulbs, garden tools, wheelbarrows and plant pots.
“If it’s garden-related, we want it.”
Among those helping over the weekend will be the Catshill Scouts and pupils from the area’s Chadsgrove School.
The garden – on a plot of Bromsgrove District Council land which had previously fallen victim to anti-social behaviour – will be used to grow plants, fruit and vegetables.
