THIS YEAR’S Bloodwise Bromsgrove Fun Run has exceeded all expectations, raising more than £22,000 for the cause.
The fully-booked event on Sunday, featuring 500 runners taking on either the 5k or 10k course, has already raised £6,000 more than last year’s.
Organiser Nicole Harris said she would like to thank everyone who took part and who helped organise it, especially the volunteer marshals.
“The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic – we had blue skies and no accidents whatsoever.
“The people were really lovely – there were a lot who had lost someone because of leukaemia.”
As well as the runners there was a group of Nordic Walkers, including Carol, Tracey, Amanda and Vicky who were taking on their first 10k and loved the experience.
Ian Northcott BEM, the owner of Mercian Nordic Walking, said “I am so proud of my members who took on a challenge like this and to have helped inspire them is a great feeling.”
The Bloodwise Bromsgrove Forget-Me-Not Walk will be the next event on June 9 at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre.
