THE FUND-RAISING total at The Hawthorns Social Club in Rednal for Cancer Research UK has now reached £31,543.47.
The club has supported the charity for the last three years, holding a variety of events for the cause including UB40, Del Shannon and Elvis tribute nights and local band nights from Vaseline and Killerstream.
The Hawthorns has also held raffles, family fun days, supported Race for Life where club members have taken part and even got muddy in the process.
The club also has a permanent donation station on site.
More shows are planned for this year to support the important research carried out by Cancer Research UK.
Club member Val Brakewell who has been leading the drive said: “All in all there has been some fantastic fund-raising hosted by the club, executed by a small number of members volunteering to help the charity.”
