COLD-CALLERS claiming to offer ‘council-approved’ boiler replacement grants are operating in the area, writes Ryan Smith.
Head of community services at the district council Judith Wills said it and its contractors would never knock on someone’s door without contacting them first or providing proper identification.
She urged people to verify any callers’ identities through the council’s Nominated Neighbour scheme, by calling the community safety team on 01527 881472 or by emailing [email protected].
