APPLICATIONS for high school admissions for September 2019 are due to close soon.

The deadline to apply for a place is Wednesday, October 31.

The applications have been open online since the start of September and letters were sent to any child transitioning to a high school in the next school year.

Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Education and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, Coun Marcus Hart said “Starting school and the transition up the educational ladder are big steps for children, and we aim to make this change as smooth as possible.

“We are pleased that with admission for September 2018 every child that applied had a place offered to them, with 93% getting their first choice preference.

“However it is especially important that the deadlines for application are met to avoid missing out on a place.”

Letters and guides on starting school or transitioning to a new school have been sent to schools and have been distributed to those eligible to transition to new schools next year, there is a secure online system where parents can create an account and submit an application.

The online system will also include guides on starting school or transitioning to a new school.

Anyone who does not have access to the internet can get online at any Worcestershire library or if they require additional assistance, they should call School Admissions on 01905 822700.

The deadline for applications to primary, first, infant, junior and middle schools is January 15, 2019.
