MORE THAN 500 people turned out to the outdoor cinema screening of The Greatest Showman at Stoke Heath Recreation Ground on Saturday.
People took along picnic blankets, chairs, hampers and cool boxes with some singing along to the score.
The attendance was two-and-a-half times last year’s event, thrilling the organisers of the free event.
John Ellis, from Stoke Parish Council, said: “It was a wonderful evening – such a nice community atmosphere.
“Everybody had a great night.”
Anther resident who wrote a letter for this week’s paper said: “We had a wonderful night watching the film with numerous neighbours and friends. “It was a nice opportunity for councillors to mingle with their constituents and for all to share a lovely experience in the open air.
“The perfect film choice and perfect weather conditions.”
