LIFE at Step Four on the non-League ladder got off to the perfect start for Bromsgrove Sporting as they secured a 4-1 victory over AFC Dunstable.

Walsall loanee Cameron Peters scored the Rouslers’ first ever Southern League Division One Central goal in the 28th minute before an own goal from Ryan Frater moments later doubled the visitors’ lead.

Bernard Christie then pulled one back for the hosts ten minutes before the interval when he was hand to force the ball home after Sporting failed to clear their lines from a corner.

Last season’s Midland League Premier Division champions were awarded a penalty just three minutes after half-time when Josh Quaynor was tripped in the area, with Richard Gregory smashing the ball down the centre of goal from 12 yards out to make it 3-1.

Brendan Kelly’s men then made sure of the points just after the hour mark when John Pykett nodded in from Will Shorrock’s inch-perfect cross.

Up next for Sporting is a home clash against Kidlington on Tuesday night (7.45pm KO).
