BROMSGROVE’s Isobel Bridge has been selected to be a part of the Wasps Netball squad at this year’s School Games.

The national multi-sport event attracts the UK’s most talented young athletes and will take place at Loughborough University from August 30 to September 2.

Bridge, a student at Alcester Grammar School, has racked up plenty of experience having previously reached the National Finals with her home team.

The 15-year-old lists the England Rose’s 2018 Commonwealth Gold as her biggest sporting inspiration.

Isobel will be following in the footsteps of some of Britain’s biggest sporting stars who have competed at the event before going on to senior international success.

Previous competitors include Paralympic champions Hannah Cockroft, Ellie Simmonds and Jonnie Peacock, Olympic champion Adam Peaty, heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson and sprinter Adam Gemili.

At the event Bridge will experience the excitement of competing at the highest level.

She will live in a dedicated Athletes’ Village on the Loughborough University campus, take part in a School Games ceremony and perform in front of huge crowds of spectators.
