STAFF and pupils at South Bromsgrove High School bid a fond farewell to one of the much-loved teachers who is retiring after 39 years, writes Olivia Warburton.

Quintin Watt, known as Quint to friends, was the head of history at the high school before deciding to start working part-time.

A spokesperson for the school said his knowledge and love for the subject inspired many students over the years.

Quint’s battlefields trips were always a ‘sell-out’ with his pupils, as he personalised them by following the story of a 19-year-old second lieutenant from Bromsgrove across the Somme battlefield.

“Everyone at South Bromsgrove will miss him greatly and wish him the best in his in next chapter,” added the spokesperson.
