A NUMBER of care homes across Bromsgrove will holding royal wedding celebrations today.
Prince Harry will be marrying Meghan Markle at midday at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in front of millions of viewers around the world.
Staff and residents at St John’s Court are hosting a ‘street party’ event.
Everyone will gather to watch the footage on TV, with a glass of bucks fizz to toast the happy couple.
Later in the day they will be enjoying a good old English afternoon tea, with homemade scones, jam and clotted cream.
And football fans will be opening the beers and watching Manchester United take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Chandler Court Care Home will be opening its doors to the public from 11.45am when there will be tea, coffee and home-made cake on offer.
Jo Gill, the manager of the Care UK home, said: “We’re looking forward to commemorating the big day with the people of Bromsgrove and raising a glass to the happy couple.”

Residents in Bilberry Place will be watching the big wedding at midday and then the doors will be open from 2pm to 4pm for members of the public to join them for a glass of fizz.
There will also be a beautiful wedding cake, for everyone to enjoy.
