THERE was a changing of the chain at Bromsgrove District Council House on Wednesday when Coun Caroline Spencer became chairman for the second time.
Coun Spencer, who has also been the Civic Head, took over from Coun Helen Jones who had been in the role for two years.
During her time Coun Jones also raised more than £4,000 for her chosen charity NewStarts.
Coun Spencer’s chosen charity for the year will be Bosom Friends breast cancer support group.
It was formed in 1996 by the breast care nurses based at the Alexandra Hospital as they felt there was a growing need for a local support network for breast cancer patients.
The informal, friendly group meets monthly in several locations in Bromsgrove and Redditch and is always supported by at least one of the Breast Care Nurses from the Alexandra Hospital.
Representatives from Droitwich, Redditch, Kidderminster, Pershore and Bewdley attended Wednesday’s meeting where Coun Mike Webb was also made vice-chairman.
