MEMBERS of Bromsgrove Court Leet visited The Cross Inn, Finstall, to mark the reopening and to test some of the brews from new owners Black Country Ales.

And the group tasted the ale while they were there to ensure it met residents’ expectations.

Ale taster and past Bailiff Hamish Wilson started with Fireside Bitter, while ale taster and immediate past Bailiff Phil Harper sampled the Pig on the Wall and senior ale taster Jo Slade tasted the BFG – Bradley’s Finest Golden.

All ales were found wholesome and fit for consumption for the good people of Bromsgrove.

The Landlord Ryan Carr was handed a certificate to display in the bar along with a spring of evergreen as a sign that the ale was good.

The evergreen was used in years gone by so those unable to read knew the pub and beer within it were of a high standard.

After the ale tasting ceremony the members of the Court remained in the pub and enjoyed the locally made pork pies and pickles.
