A YEAR 12 textiles student at South Bromsgrove High School proved her material worth when she finished in the top 20 in a national competition.

Caitlin Kemp entered the Wool4School design contest aimed at giving budding fashion designers the chance to show the country what they are made of.

Participants were tasked with designing an outfit for their favourite musician to wear on stage, using at least 80 per cent Australian Merino wool.

Textile teachers Jenny Hawthorn and Sophie Schwarz were both delighted and extremely proud of Caitlin and her achievement, especially considering there more than 4,500 entries.

Caitlin is hoping to make a career in the textile design world.
