A BROMSGROVE writer has overcome a number of ongoing health problems to achieve her lifelong dream of publishing her first book.
Sharon Grigg, who writes under the pen name SL Grigg, made it her new year’s resolution to publish her book ‘Coffee Break Companion’ during 2018.
Now available on Amazon, the collection of dark, short stories and poetry features mermaids, dragons, mystery and horror, with something to capture everyone’s imagination and ideal for dipping into during a coffee break.
After bouncing back from mental health problems, Sharon was struck down with kidney and other health problems, which led to her undergoing major surgery in September last year.
Having previously written a popular blog on mental health and articles published by Mind and NHS England, many of the stories in ‘Coffee Break Companion’ were written during Sharon’s battle with mental health.
Sharon said: “For me publishing was never about, money or fame, writing has always been the greatest passion.
“I just wanted to be able to hold a copy of my book and say, ‘I wrote this’ and now I can.”
Available on Amazon.co.uk in paperback (£3.99) and Kindle (£1.99) versions, visit amzn.eu/75GROFI for more information.
