YOUNG Dutch quartet The Van Kuijks will be the latest artists to take to the stage in the Bromsgrove Concerts chamber music series.
The group, which has been winning international acclaim and chamber music competitions in the last two years, perform at Artrix at 8pm next Friday, March 16.
It will be an exciting evening as their playing has been described as stylish, full of energy and with a sense of risk.
The concert takes on an extra dimension when they will be joined by an extra viola player (Charlotte Bonneton of the Castalian quartet who opened the season) to play two of the great Quintets of classical music by Brahms and Mozart.
Both are full of melody and feeling for audiences to enjoy and respond to in live performance.
They will also perform a piece by Japan’s leading younger composers Akira Nishimura.
His short quartet Pulses of Light veers between extreme energy and deep reflection.
Bromsgrove Concerts aims to provide programmes that are easily enjoyable while offering a varied and imaginative repertoire, and to regularly introduce audiences to unfamiliar contemporary pieces to broaden the listening experience.
Tickets are £20 for single tickets, £5 concessions – registered disabled, unemployed or full time students over 25.
