Residents urged to sign up to Headway's Easter Fun Run in Cofton Park

REDNAL-based charity Headway is urging residents to sign up for its annual Easter Fun Run as places are limited.

The event will take place on Easter Sunday, March 25, in Cofton Park and will consist of a 5K course suitable for people of all abilities to run, jog and walk.

Participants will receive a chocolate egg and an Easter-themed medal on completing the run.

Easter-related fancy dress is optional but prizes will be awarded for the best costume as well as to the first male and female entrants over the line.

Julie Wedgbury, Fundraising Manager at Headway Birmingham and Solihull, said: “Our Easter Fun Run is proving an increasing popular event and we fully expect to fill all the places available this year.

“We are therefore encouraging people to sign up early to avoid missing out.”

Entry is £10 with medals sponsored by Birmingham company Frenkel Topping, enabling all proceeds from the run to go directly towards the charity’s brain injury services.

This includes a new Sports and Wellbeing programme aimed at encouraging the charity’s brain injured clients and their families to get more active.

Children are welcome to take part but must be accompanied by an adult if under 16. Dogs (one per runner, on a lead) are equally welcome.
