FAMILY and friends of Bromsgrove care home resident Muriel Dudley got together on Monday to celebrate her 103rd birthday.
The marvellous milestone was marked at St John’s Court with a special cake.
Muriel was born in Manchester on February 5, 1915, as the eldest of five.
After her mum died young, she looked after her dad and her brothers and sisters.
The family moved to West Bromwich where she met her husband-to-be Harry and the pair went on to have two sons – Barry, who has sadly passed away, and Roger.
Muriel, who worked as a career and then as a bread and cake maker in a bakery, also has grandchildren and a great grandchild.
St John’s Court activity co-ordinator Heather Mitchell said: “She has always been such a lovely caring lady.
“She is always very chatty and can be a bit of a character when she wants to be.
“It was great to see her celebrate her 103rd birthday.”
