A BROMSGROVE garden centre has been thanked by Dudley Zoological Gardens after surplus potted Christmas trees were donated to be used in the attraction’s snow leopard enclosure.
Staff will soon be planting the hardy evergreens, contributed by Willowbrook Garden Centre, in the new £100,000 extension to the zoo’s big cat enclosure.
The zoological gardens’ assistant curator Jay Haywood said they were extremely grateful for the donation.
“We’re currently putting the finishing touches to the snow leopard’s enclosure, which we’re aiming to complete by the end of the month and we’ll be replanting the trees into the extension, which will not only provide extra natural coverage for the cats all year round, but will also look aesthetically pleasing for visitors too.”
He added a big thank you to visitors who also donated unwanted rooted festive furs and urged anyone else who had one to add to drop it off at the Safari Shop at the zoo’s entrance.
