STAFF at a Bromsgrove finance firm have chosen Birmingham Women’s Hospital (BWH) as their charity of the year.
AFH Financial Group chose BWH for its support and care for women, babies and families across the West Midlands, including with neonatal care and its maternity unit.
In previous years AFH has raised money for Midlands Air Ambulance, Primrose Hospice and Macmillan and among last year’s fund-raising activities were the old £1 coin collection challenge and the Great AFH Bake-Off.
Jenny Read, AFH charity co-ordinator, said: “Birmingham Women’s Hospital is close to many of our hearts.
“This is a fantastic local charity, and we are looking forward to working together to raise money for this wonderful cause.
“We did really well last year, raising £2,040 for Cancer Research UK, and are aiming to do even better in 2018.
“We have some great events planned already.”
BWH Chairties works to make a real difference, making the hospital environment and experience the best it can be.
Louise McCathie, director of fund-raising at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charities said:
“We’re so pleased AFH staff has chosen us as their charity of the year for 2018.
“We’ll be cheering on Jenny and all of her colleagues in their fundraising efforts and the money raised will go towards making the hospital the very best it can be for our patients.”
