BROMSGROVE’S Chandler Court care home, Recreation Road, which is due to open next year, has donated £250 to St John’s Church restoration plan, writes Chris Britton.
Care home manager Jo Gill said: “It’s important we build relationships with the local community and ensure we are making a positive impact on the town.
“Bromsgrove has so much heritage and culture that we wanted to help preserve just one part of this with our donation to Friends of St John’s.”
Friends of St John’s chairman Jo Slade said:” For thousands of years a building has stood on this hill, and over time it has been used as a meeting place, market, a place for worship, and most importantly a place for the community.
“We are delighted to receive this donation from Chandler Court and are keen to build on this new relationship when the home opens next year.”
This is the latest community contribution by the care home which has also worked with local schools on an art competition.
