FESTIVE book Rudy the Reindeer by children’s author Helen Wendy Cooper will be launched at Rubery Library this Saturday.
Helen, who was also a judge on the CITV BAFTA award-winning Share A Story programme, will be at the Library Way venue at 11am where she will be reading the book to youngsters before reciting her Christmas poem The Kissing Tree.
Helen will then run a series of creative activities, including making mistletoe wreaths.
Helen, who is best known for her Vegetarian Vampire book series and Shape Land, has visited many schools and libraries throughout Worcestershire.
She said: “I’m really excited about reading my book Rudy the Reindeer to all the children at Rubery Library.
“So far I’ve had a great response and everyone has said how ‘Christmassy’ they feel after my workshops.”
Rudy the Reindeer lives at Cob House Country Park with his reindeer family and his best friend Spike (a cheeky little mouse).
Rudy gets into trouble and can’t ride Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve.
Santa and the reindeer go to deliver the presents but a storm causes the sleigh to crash.
Their only hope is Rudy, but will he be able to save them and all the presents in time for Christmas?
