SEAN DONNELLY has been handed the chance to prove he can compete with bare knuckle boxing’s big boys.
The Bromsgrove fighter and plasterer has been matched with Eric Olsen in Coventry on Saturday, November 4 – and that’s a fight which represents a big step up in class.
Olsen comes from New York with a reputation for testing Britain’s top fighters.
He’s given champions Nathan Leeson and Shaun George trouble in the past, but Donnelly is confident he will power to a quick win.
“Olsen is a really tough cookie who has fought in every combat sport out there,” he said.
“He’s a big name and this is my chance to prove I’m at the same level as people like Leeson and George.
“I’m going to knock him out. Simple as that.
“This fight won’t go two rounds.
“I’m going in there to make a name for myself. I’m here to take people out and win belts and this is my chance to prove that.”
Donnelly is certainly confident in his abilities and he has a 30-second win on his record.
“I’ve studied all the top fighters out there in bare knuckle boxing and I’m sure I am at their level,” he added.
“This is my chance to prove it.
“I’m not mucking about.
“After this fight I’m going to tell the promoters: ‘I’m ready for anyone.’”
