BROMSGROVE players served up a treat for spectators with great tennis in the annual club finals day.
Adam Dudek put in some powerful displays to win both the Men’s A final 6-3, 6-1 against Ollie Stratford and partnering Luke Petit in the Men’s A doubles against Stratford and Steve Jones.
He missed out on the treble when he and partner Katherine Smedley lost out to Petit and Imogen Sinclair in the Mixed A final which went to a deciding tie break.
In the Men’s B finals there was a fantastic display from Pete Morris.
Starting the day in the singles, he beat Voitek Niedzwiedz in two sets.
He then played the doubles final with partner Tim Roland.
In a close high quality match which pulled in the spectators, they lost the first set 4-6 before taking the next two 6-3, 6-2 to beat fellow C team pair John Casey and Tim Wright.
It was then straight into the Mixed final where, despite the obvious tiredness, he hung on to win 7-5, 7-5 with partner Jane Corbett against mother and son combo Di and Craig Horton.
This capped a great day for Corbett who had earlier beaten Carol Cornelissen 6-4, 6-3 to win the Ladies B singles final.
Juniors Izzy O’Connor and Claudia Bullock showed how they had developed as a pair by reaching the Ladies A doubles final.
However, the experience of Ann Banner with Katherine Smedley showed on the day as they ran out comfortable winners 6-0, 6-2.
The ladies A final and B doubles final were postponed due to injury and unavailability.
