LONGBRIDGE town centre will host its first ever harvest festival this Saturday, September 23.

The event, from 11am to 1pm, will feature a farmers’ market with stalls selling a variety of items, including fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, cheeses, speciality drinks, ice cream, hot food and more.

There will fun competitions for the best vegetable and wonky vegetable, along with children’s games.

Anyone who has grown a vegetable they want to enter into the contest should email [email protected]

At 12.30pm there will be an ‘Act of Thanksgiving’ with harvest hymns and prayers which is open to all and donations will be taken for the local food bank.

The event has been made possible thanks to support from St Modwen which owns and manages the centre, and the community group Friends of Longbridge Open Spaces.

Andrea Clarke, Property Manager for St Modwen, said: “We’re very pleased to host our very first Harvest Festival in Longbridge town centre.

“There are lots of fun activities for all the family to enjoy on the day, and we hope the public will come along and show their support.”
