FRANKLEY Guitar Club’s new season will get under way on September 17.
The club, which is run by American guitarist and teacher David Schwan, is based at Holly Hill School, New Street, and is on the look-out for new members.
It meets every fortnight and this is its 17th season.
The club is performance-based meaning members not only get to advance their guitar playing skills but also get a chance to perform in public in a friendly environment.
Each club session begins with a 30 minute guitar lesson on some aspect of guitar playing.
Then there is a time for interested people to perform what they have practised during the week.
Everyone is guaranteed to be able to play at least one song on the night.
All styles and levels are welcome and there is a small PA system at the venue.
The purpose of the club is to really encourage players to develop their skills at their pace and in a friendly environment.
The club also raised £8,000 for good causes last year.
David said: “We hope to see as many people as possible there.”
