AN URGENT appeal has been launched by the Rednal-based Play Days play group and Active Kids groups to find volunteers to help run its sessions.
Due to illness the groups, which have been run by volunteers for the past 30 years, are in desperate need of a helping hand so the youngsters from birth to four can continue to learn and develop through play.
The groups also enable the children’s carers to meet with others and enjoy play activities in a safe, warm , informal and friendly atmosphere.
Duties in the day-to-day running of the playgroup which volunteers undertake include setting up, clearing away, preparing snacks and drinks for the toddlers, making hot drinks for carers, assisting at song/circle time, messy play and sitting with toddlers.
Jules Kite-Lightfoot, who runs the sessions at St Stephen’s Church, Edgewood Road, said: “We need a volunteer at all sessions which are on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
“There are lots of exciting events and activities planned throughout the year.”
