MORE THAN 250 people turned up to support local stars at the finals of Rubery’s Got Talent
Held at Rubery Social Club on Sunday, the free event saw up to 22 singers, dancers and musicians take to the stage and impress the judges in their ten-minute slot.
The winner of the under 12 category was Olivia Hanks who wowed the judges with her rendition of Barbra Streisand’s ‘Don’t Rain on my Parade’.
Charlotte Gould and Amelia Hubbard won the under 17 category with their rock and roll dance which had the crowd on their feet.
The final winner of the night was Emily Badger of the over 17 category had the crowd in tears with her renditions of ‘How I Will Know’ by Sam Smith and ‘With You’ from Ghost.
Winners and runners-up from each group all received prizes, with the winner awarded a position on stage at the Rubery Festival in St Chads Park on September 3.
Tony Maslen, chairman of Rubery Festival, said: “Rubery’s Got Talent was a very successful night on its tenth year.
“There is some great talent around and it is a brilliant thing for kids to get involved with.”
