LONGBRIDGE Police Station and a Bromsgrove church were among the lots to be sold at what has been billed as ‘Birmingham’s busiest ever auction’.
The police station, on Bristol Road South, reached its guide price of £400,000.
And Bournheath Methodist Church in Fairfield Road, Bournheath, exceeded its £85,000 to £100,000 guide price, going under the hammer for £204,000.
The event was organised by SDL Auctions Bigwood’s and took place at Villa Park’s Holte Suite.
Gurpreet Bassi said: “This was the busiest auction we have ever held and belies any recent suggestions of a slowing market.
“As well as huge numbers physically attending the auction, we also had record numbers of telephone, internet and proxy bidders, and so the message is clear.
“This was a great result for our sellers and we are already experiencing high interest in our next auction in Birmingham on September 6.”
