THE FORMER Longbridge Police Station and a Bromsgrove church are set to go under the hammer at Birmingham’s largest auction ever next month.

The police station on 1170 Bristol Road South will be available with a guide price of £165,000 on July 6 in the Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC.

Another with planning permission in place for conversion into two dwellings is the former Methodist Church in Fairfield Road, Bournheath, near Bromsgrove.

SDL Auctions Bigwood is offering 157 lots of properties priced from £1 to more than £500,000 at its largest auction ever in the city.

Ian Tudor, head of commercial auctions at SDL Auctions, said: “We have a wide range of lots including two former police stations, a former post office and a Methodist church on offer.

“These could be considered suitable for a wide variety of alternative uses, including residential and possible redevelopment, subject to obtaining the appropriate planning permissions.”

The auction starts at 10.30am on July 6, and SDL Auctions Bigwood is advising interested bidders to get there early to take their seat in the auction room as huge interest is expected.

SDL Auctions Bigwood is inviting auction entries for the September auction and anyone looking to sell can request a free auction appraisal by visiting www.sdlauctions.co.uk, emailing [email protected] or calling 0121 233 5046.
