TWO men and a teenager have been arrested after guns were seized during a police raid in Northfield.
Officers carried out two early morning swoops in Bedlam Wood Road and Farren Road on Tuesday where they recovered three guns and cartridges.
Two men, aged 31 and 23, along with a 16-year-old boy, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remain in custody for questioning.
The raids follow an investigation into shots being fired in Bristol Road South on May 13, no-one was injured during the incident.
It also forms part of an on-going crackdown on suspected organised crime groups in Birmingham.
Detective Sergeant Adam Hicklin, from Force CID, said: “The seizure of these guns and cartridges should reassure the public how seriously we take the illegal possession of firearms.
“This was a pre-planned operation and we anticipate there will be more in the future.
“A gun in the wrong hands can have potentially very serious consequences.”
