THE CANDIDATES have been named for the general election seats of Bromsgrove and Northfield.
In Bromsgrove, as expected, Sajid Javid will re-stand as the Conservative candidate with Michael Thompson standing for Labour and Neil Lewis, the Liberal Democrat candidate.
Former Birmingham Poet Laureate, local campaigner and Rubery resident Giovanni ‘Spoz’ Esposito will also stand again for the Green Party.
In Northfield, Richard Burden will re-stand as the Labour candidate.
He is up against Roger Harmer who lives in Acocks Green, Eleanor Masters from Weoley Castle and London-based Conservative Meg Powell-Chandler.
In Droitwich, Nigel Huddleston will be back for the Conservatives and he will be up against Labour’s Fred Grindrod, Liberal Democrat stalwart Margaret Rowley, UKIP’s David Greenwood and The Green Party’s Fay Whitfield.
Residents will be going to the polls on June 8 for the ‘snap election’ called by Theresa May last month.
