RUBERY’S Polly Put the Kettle On was featured on TV this week in BBC One’s ‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’.
It all started when antiques expert Kate Bliss was searching for vintage tea rooms on the Internet and came across the popular Rubery venue.
The show sees the antiques experts challenged to pick up pieces for as little as possible and sell them on for a profit, which eventually goes to charity.
Filming took place last summer and the programme was aired on Monday (May 8).
Susan O’Leary, who served Kate a Black Forest gateau when she visited, said: “She wrote to me afterwards and said it was the best one she had ever had. Filming was a lot of fun and the tea room looked great on the telly.”
Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid is also due to be at Polly Put the Kettle On between 12pm and 1pm tomorrow.
The show is available to view to view here – the BBC’s catch-up service.
