PARENTS and parents-to-be can learn vital child life-saving skills at a first aid course being held in Bromsgrove next Saturday (May 13).
The session, from 10am to midday at St Peter’s Church, Rock Hill, has been organised by the Bromsgrove branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) in conjunction with qualified first aid trainer Jan Maycock.
NCT Baby first aid courses are specifically designed to be relevant to parents and carers of babies and pre-school children.
The content covers topics that can be a worry for parents such as CPR, choking and burns.
The courses are just two hours long, which the organisers say are perfect for learning the simple procedures needed in an emergency, but short enough to fit into a busy parent’s schedule.
Claire Strachan, Bromsgrove NCT’s Baby First Aid Co-ordinator said: “Many parents and grandparents feel anxious about what to do for for a child in an emergency.
“The NCT Baby First Aid course is a chance to learn the essentials, ask questions and practice on dummies to help them feel more prepared in a crisis.”
The course is £12.50 per person or £20 per couple.
