Neighbourhood Watch meeting set up in Hagley to combat car crime and burglaries in the village

A SPECIAL Hagley Neighbourhood Watch meeting was held to address an increase in burglaries and car crime in the village, writes Rhys Goodfellow.

Steve Colella, who is standing in Thursday’s Worcestershire County Council elections and Roger Seabury, the chairman of Hagley Community Association, arranged the get-together.

Mr Colella told The Standard there was a great response from the residents, especially to the Hagley Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page which has recently been developed.

“The response from residents who are keen to look out for their neighbours and friends, reflects the strong community spirit we have in Hagley.”

Mr Seabury added: “We exchanged a lot of information and the general view was that the Neighbourhood Watch should be extended further and more people should be made aware of the neighbourhood page.”

Mr Colella said: “We intend to set up regular meetings of the group with an action to circulate information and advise with the help of the Local Policing Team.”
