A BROMSGROVE student has been recognised as one of the country’s top cosmetics representatives after building up his Avon business in just five months.
Joshua Matheson, who is currently studying marketing and business full time, began selling the cosmetics last October through his social media channels and has since acquired a team of 30 sales representatives.
The 22-year-old had grown up with Avon due to his auntie being a long-time representative but always thought it wasn’t necessarily a career route for him, being young and male.
But, after a chance encounter with a local area manager soon changed his mind, he was soon selling products on Facebook, Instagram and other sites within days.
Joshua said: “With only five months under my belt, I am excited for where my business is heading and I believe that with the continued growth of social selling, 2017 is set to be Avon’s biggest year to date in the UK.
“Social selling is attractive for younger representatives, not only for the flexibility it offers – you can post anywhere, anytime – but also because many have already engaged in an online network which they can convert to the brand.”
